Background

I’m a poet, writer and post-marketer.

I coded my first web page in 1998, left a traditional marketing career shortly afterwards and spent the next 20 years in online marketing. Affiliate marketing, SEO, HTML websites, email marketing, writing for the web, then social media – I was there at the start of it all. My copywriting experience spans hundreds of websites, email newsletters, blogs and social media, as well as print brochures, magazine advertorial and a number of books. I’m also an experienced speaker, trainer, author and features writer on topics related to social media, blogging, online marketing and communications. There’s more here about my books and poetry pamphlets.

Clients include, or have included writers and authors, individuals in PR, publishing, change management and communications, as well as organisations including Equiniti Group, John Lewis, Mogford Group, London Metropolitan University, Sussex University, Brighton University and a ton of small- to medium-sized businesses from vacuum pump manufacturers to boutique hotels.

Before the internet I had international marketing roles with Adidas and before that, Nike. You can see all the details on my LinkedIn profile. (I was one of the first 1,000 UK members there, by the way.)

I have an MA in Digital Media (distinction) from the University of Sussex. Before starting my own business in 2002, I was a freelance consultant then Marketing Director for a Brighton online agency specialising in SEO and affiliate marketing.

These days I’m only taking on writing projects. If you are doing something interesting and would like my help please get in touch

I’m a member of The Society of Authors and my literary agent is Charlotte Howard at Fox & Howard.

I am based in Eastbourne, an hour and a half from London by Southern Rail on a good day.”
